Calculating the Elasticity of an Annular Disc Without Prior Information
I don't know the dimensions of your annular disc, but if you only need Young module and the material is not plstic (no linear elasticity) , may be you can try test without cut. Use the clamp to clamping at both sides of one radio.- Rafa

If ultrasound can be used to measure elasticity
If you know the sound speed you will "calculate" de Young module. You need the sound speed (for you frecuency) for draw a medical image.- Rafa

Comparing Stress in Pipes with High Pressure Fluid Inside and Outside
¿what means for you less stress? Are you speaking about less Von Misses Stress, Treska,...? principal stress??- Rafa

Calculate Compressive Strength of Pipe
darkelf you can use the usual equations for elasticity but in cilindrical coordinates (polar). You have a stress of sigma sub r with sigma sub theta =0 and sigma sub z=0. Then you can solve the system to obtain the deformation- Rafa

Porosity Measurement: How to Calculate Factors
Define what means for you porosity factor and void factor. You can measure de pososity for Arquimedes, it is so simply like weigh and calculate the volumen. If you know the density of real material you can estimate the porosity- Rafa

How to derive plane strain bulk modulus?
if epsilon 1 =0 then sigma 1 won't be 0 because if you limit the deformation you will hava a stress- Rafa

Temperature Effect on Fracture Toughness of PMMA (Perspex)
All polymers material have a Tg . This is the temperature where the thermal eneergy is sufficient to break the secundary bondig between polimer chain. If temperature is higher than Tg then the material can "fluid", in this case Kic almost hasn`t sense because the material is little "solid" . The...- Rafa

Cantilever beam with horizontal and vertical component point load at free end
Only a question. Do the surface where the forze is applied bend? or this surface does not change. Because to seprate the force in horizontal with Fcos(alpha) and vertical (F sin (alpha) i will think in this surface or not??- Rafa

How to determine linear force from rotational force?
1988 ajk give you the answer and for "Sadly, until the platform is built and set up I won't know how heavy it will be ". You can estimate it if you know what materials are been used and the size (dimensions) of platform- Rafa

How Can Inconel Be Soldered to Ceramic?
Yangloh, Can you explain a little? I don't think that one material can use for joining all metalls to ceramic unles your joing are "cold". I explain, I can "joint" two materials with plasticine or a resin or something like that, but this joining can not use in the conditions where you will...- Rafa

Fracture Toughness: Stress Intensity Factor Formula
I think that you are mixture differents things. K_I is the stress intensity factor that tells you how your material break if you have a inicial crack. 1.- If you material don't have any crack you can not apply Kic and you use Ultimate streght 2.- If you have a crack, you can not use neither...- Rafa

Looking for a polymer similar to polycarbonate and ABS
Polycarbonate and ABS are chemical name for some polymers. Noryl, ryton, nylon... are trademark. You can get the same polymer with differents names (trademark). For specifications is better don't use trademaks- Rafa

Carburization of Steel: Why Use High Temp?
The process of carburization works via the implantation of carbon atoms into the surface layers of a metal. As metals are made up of atoms bound tightly into a metallic crystalline lattice, the implanted carbon atoms force their way into the crystal structure. The carburization is produce...- Rafa
