Homework Statement
Water pumped to a cooling plant through a 4km long cast iron pipeline.
power available is 30kW.
what pipe diameter is required to ensure a mass flow rate of 100kg/s.
Homework Equations
The Attempt at a Solution
I know you have to guess a value and find it...
Yes I sketched it.
so its basically a rectangle split into 4?
does that 4 before the integral mean they are integrating a quarter of the shape and multiplying it by 4?
Homework Statement
the question is 3(b) on the attached pdf.
Homework Equations
The Attempt at a Solution
I could only get as far as the filling in the equation.
How do they change it to one integral.?
And also where did they get them substitutions from?
Any help...
Could someone verify my answer for this question?
13m ladder is leaning against a wall.
If the top of the ladder slips down the wall at a rate of 2m/s.
How fast will the foot be moving away from the wall when the top is 5m from the ground?
My answer:
use pythagoras to set up equation...
complete combustion of 1.1g of a compound of C,H and O gives 2.2g of CO2 and 0.9g of H2O.
The compound has a relative molar mass close to 130.
Find the molecular formula and true molar mass?
dont even no where to begin
i got the capacitance by manipulating the equation angular frequency=1/root(inductance x capacitance)
although I am not sure if its the correct equation.
also i couldn't even make a decent effort at (ii)and (iii) i don't even no where to begin.
if you could give me an outline of how to do...
i got part (a) by using the equation Vab + E - Ir
Which gives 26.57V (also the current = 1.171A)
Having trouble getting the power dissipated, any ideas?
