How does ball A come to rest and Ball B remain stationary?
Homework Statement In a collision between three identical steel balls A B C A comes to rest and B remains stationary, while C rolls off. In terms of the Forces acting, explain how Ball A came to rest and why Ball B remained stationary. Homework EquationsThe Attempt at a Solution Well what I...- Richie Smash

High School Change in scales causing change in gradient?
Ok here are my images with the scales represented above and the data presented to plot orginally... However I realized what I did wrong... I simply forgot to convert thehorizontal units in my new graph the second picture, to suit...it was just one tiny mistake... how DO I avoid these? The test...- Richie Smash

High School Change in scales causing change in gradient?
Dr Claude, I am using the triangle method and then dividing the vertical units by the horizontal units, using two poitns that are NOT given in the data but instead two points from the line of best fit I drew, which is standard practice for this level- Richie Smash

High School Change in scales causing change in gradient?
Hello I plotted a graph of velocity against time only to realize that I needed more space on the X axis, so I changed my scale from instead of 2cm= 10 seconds to 2cm =20 seconds. My Y axis remained constant with a scale of 2cm= 10 m/s However, the gradient I got from the first scale was...- Richie Smash

Calculate the ratio of new volume to old volume
Homework Statement A car tyre has initial temperature 23°C and inital pressure 2*105 Pa After heating in the sun, temperature is now 34°C and final pressure is 2.1*105Pa Question asks, Calculate the ratio of new volume to old volume (V1/V2) if the pressure is held constant during the...- Richie Smash

High School Why is the volume of a gas bigger during a phase change
Hello, I would like to know, why is the volume of gas produced during phase change significantly more than the original volume of the liquid being used? Say water changing phase at 1atm.- Richie Smash

Determine the relationship between θB and θA
In these questions for this level I am very sure we have to assume it's 90 degrees but I see what you are saying.- Richie Smash

Determine the relationship between θB and θA
Oh ok, so θA and θB would have been the same even if the angle wasn't 90 degrees then? Also am I safe to assume my answer is correct?- Richie Smash

Determine the relationship between θB and θA
Here goes my attempt kind physics teachers: θB+90+(90-θA)=180 180+θB-θA=180 θB-θA=0 θB=θA- Richie Smash

Determine the relationship between θB and θA
So if theta A and angle AXW will add up to 90, how is angleAXW related to theta B and then from there how is theta A related to theta B?- Richie Smash

Determine the relationship between θB and θA
Ah yes haruspex I see, θA and angle AXW must add up to 90 because that is a normal that is between them, as for θB and angle AXW...I'm not entirely sure- Richie Smash

Determine the relationship between θB and θA
Sorry for not mentioning because I thought it would be understood, but all rays entering and exiting are perpendicular, and all internal relflection totally straight, so it would be safe to assume 90 degree angles where necessary, I'm sure of that.- Richie Smash
