Understanding Resolution of 852x600 Display with RGB Filters
Hello, I have somewhat of a technical question and was hoping you would be able to help me. I have a display that is 852 (x3) x 600. This means that that there are 852 x 600 of the red, blue and green filtered pixels. Say however that I am looking at a completely red object, thus only red...- rp895

Graduate How Do You See Spectral Lines in Near IR from the Sun?
Hi, Quick spectroscopy question: Say I am looking at the sun with a near IR /IR spectrometer? I know there is H2 and He in the sun, and I assume I will see their spectral lines? If true, how come I see that, and the signal is not drowned by the heat from the sun? (since it is so hot, using...- rp895

Sensitivity Model for a detector
hello, I have to make a sensitivity model for a near infra red detector and I need help. I have so far done radiometric calculations taking into account noise, due to dark current, sky background, etc and calculated the minimum signal intensity i need. However, i have a few blocks: I need to...- rp895

Detecting Spectral Lines in Explosions
Hi All, I am working on a sensitivity model for a short wave IR spectrometer. And I have come up to a few questions that I had never thought of before and that seem really interesting (and I still don't know the answers, so it'd be great if anyone had any insight!) Well, I need to look at an...- rp895

Graduate Calculate how much radiant power goes through an optical system
Hi, I have to do a rediometric analysis on an optical system , basically calculate how much radiant power goes through an optical system from the target to the detector, passing through multiple lenses and prisms then to the detector. I am having some problem with radiance and irradiance...
