Calculating Energy Stored in a Capacitor with Varying Gap
Yay I got it, so i did U=(1/2)Q/C^2 which gave me = 9.57*10^-5 Thank you very much gneill. just one quick question though, how will I know what the new voltage across the capacitor is after the battery has been disconnected? Just for my own knowledge.- sabak22

Calculating Energy Stored in a Capacitor with Varying Gap
wait gneill, its not the capacitance theyre asking me to enter theyre asking me to enter the energy stored after the gap has changed! I tried applying U=(1/2)CV^2 Which gives me 4.96*10^-5 J. But its still incorrect. what am i doing wrong? seems right to me- sabak22

Calculating Energy Stored in a Capacitor with Varying Gap
Yes gneill there is more stuff to it but i thought it wouldn't be important, but i guess it is: b)Now the plates of the charged capacitor are pulled apart with the voltage source already disconnected. - The energy stored in the capacitor: Increases. an then in c theyre asking for the new...- sabak22

How Do Capacitors Charge in a Circuit with Multiple Batteries?
Homework Statement Three capacitors C1–C3, all initially uncharged, are placed in the circuit show above. The capacitances are C1=15.2 μF, C2=9.8 μF, C3=4.4 μF, and the battery voltages are V1=20 V, V2=20 V, V3=5 V. What is the magnitude q1 of the charge on capacitor C1 once equilibrium...- sabak22

Calculating Energy Stored in a Capacitor with Varying Gap
yup I know, as distance increases Capacitance decreases. so in this case my capacitance will decrease because gap is now 10mm.- sabak22

Calculating Energy Stored in a Capacitor with Varying Gap
Homework Statement A capacitor is completely charged with 670 nC by a voltage source that had 200 V. What is its capacitance?==== 3.35×10-9 F 9(I got this y doing Q/V) The initial air gap of the capacitor above was 7 mm. What is the stored energy if the air gap is now 10 mm? Now...- sabak22

Find unknown EMF magnitude in circuit
Okay this is what I am doing: I3= I1+I 2 E+6-11(I3)-2= 0 ----> E+4-11(I3)=0 8+6-11(I3)-15I2=0 14-11(I3)-15I2=0 I3= 1.27-1.36I2 How do I find E?? I am so close! I know it- sabak22

Find unknown EMF magnitude in circuit
I may sound stupid, but I honestly have no idea how the Vab could help me with this. I calculated the current flowing from b to a, which gives me 1A...does this help me in any way? This assignment is due in 8 hours!- sabak22

Engineering DC circuit, find current and potential
here are my attempts: First i made 4 different loops. each one of them looking like this by using Kirchoff's current law: A) 19-9I3-6I4+7-5I1=0 B) 7-5I1-16I2=0 C) 7-5I1+19-9I3-6I4=0 D) 19-9I3-6I4+16I2=0 But now I feel like I am stuck I don't know what to do. I don't even know if I...- sabak22
