Is a 3d printer a good investment?
Check zortrax m200 printer. It has a resolution of 90 microns, the highest for fdm type, and with further upgrading/updating, will hit 50 microns. The price? 1600€- satchurated

What is the recommended angle for twisting a blade?
I'm looking through some books a guideline or a rule of thumb for twisting a blade. I've read that is related to angle of attack and speed, but i cannot find something clear. For what I've understood, there is not a rule but every manufacturer decide which angle choose ( internal know how). Do...- satchurated

Power output of an anchored propeller
One thing is power to thrust, which is different to speed as you talk. The force is not calculated as above, but in a way more complex because thrust needs to take into account the weight- satchurated

What is the most cost-effective material for prototyping a drone airframe?
Polymers are cheap, but you will need a stamp and someone for the hot forming. Balsa is cheap and easy to handle, but weak and the torque of motors will twist the arms of your quad or hexa...in the market you can find arms of plastic or carbon fiber kits..is up to your pocket- satchurated

Comparing ANSYS Fluent/ANSYS, CATIA, Solidworks & Creo
Ansys fluent is top level application for cfd only. You will need a program to design your geometry. You can couple ansys with solidworks or catia. Those programs have cfd inside, the only thing that differences one from the other are the precision of calculation. If just want to study the...- satchurated

What are the differences between wrought, forged, and cast steel alloys?
Wrought and forged steel, has fiber inside, casting no. Forged is stronger due to presence of metal fiber...you decide to use one despite of the other depending on: -shape -dimensions -mechanical properties Crankshafts are forged, propellers are forged...pump casing is casted, valve body are...- satchurated

Airflow modeling software on a small scale
Try ecalc, is not enough reliable because it analyze from an electrical/weight point of view with a database of some motors and propellers you can found in the market. Is a good point, not the bible...- satchurated
