    Superconductivity and Fermi levels

So, according to the Fermi function, the higher the temperature of a semiconductor, the higher the likelihood that the electrons can jump to the conduction band. But in superconductors, obviously the temperature is extremely low, so how does the Fermi level, band gap theory, and...

Gyroscope precession - WHY? (What's the cause?)

Its pretty self explanatory. Its simply the axis that yeilds the highest (most resistivity to spin) moment of inertia. The MINIMUM moment of inertia about any axis passes through the centriod (center of mass of a uniformly dense object).

Shake Up Flashlights - Impressive Induced Current from Motion

So I got one of those flashlights that you see on TV where you just shake them up and they will work...no batteries. I have to say, its a pretty impressive and it is a good demonstration of an induced current from relative motion between a magnet and a coil. Anyone else play around with these...

Hall Effect & Drift Velocity: Can Copper Move w/o Current?

A current exists ONLY when there is relative motion between the strip of copper and the magnetic field. The magnitude of the current depends on the relative speed. the faster you move the strip of copper through the B field, the higher the current.

My Website - Calculus and DE tutorials

Hey guys, I just made a website and I included a mathematics tutorial section. The topics range from calc 1 - 3 (the basics). Some of the stuff at this point might be much to easy for you guys, but I'll be adding much harder calculus tutorials and DE tutorials as well. Just got to start at the...

Tips for Majoring in Electrical Engineering

I will be majoring in electrical engineering, and have a couple questions. I've heard a lot about how the classes are extremely tedious, difficult, boring, and time consuming. anyone have any opinions there? also i would like to know what some of you did with your degrees. thanks

Best way to lean Calculus on your own

Hi, I will be going into college this Fall, and am wondering a good way to get a little ahead of everything by learning some calculus early. I have taken precalculus, but that was my junior year in college, and haven't had math since. I was put in precalculus first semester because of this, but...
