Graduate Would classical physics not exist without probability?
Nobody, asked would "quantum physics not exist without probability". Classical physics would exists without probability but some of its important parts (like thermodinamics) would be severely cripled I think.- tehno

Undergrad Is the First Digit of a Sequence of Numbers Always Periodic? (without prefix)
I understood what was being asked. The last digit of 2^{2^n} is always 6 (easy to prove that). In binary numeral system that means that the number can be always represented as "1...111".It can be shown, that any sequence formed of digits at any fixed place in between ,can't be periodic.And...- tehno

What Are Grue and Bleen and Why Do They Matter?
No,not at all. For instance,I *know* that number \pi must be of Blue color, and e is a Yellow fellow.- tehno

Graduate Prove Injectivity of x^x Function?
You pro-mathematicians certainly know *all rules * of your game. And We computer scientists must obey it without objections . Maybe,I'll be hang for telling you this but most of us consider only polynomials over Q-field truly elementary functions - tehno

Graduate Prove Injectivity of x^x Function?
mathwonk, this is strange to me ,but if that's really definition you're right (thank you!). composition of standard elementary functions x,e^x,and ln(x) creates xx.Indeed,I thought elementary functions were those obtainable from standard elementary functions only by means of finite number of...- tehno

Graduate Prove Injectivity of x^x Function?
No,xx is not really exponential function. ex is exponential and transcendental function, but is classified as elementar function. OTOH,xx is trancendental, but nonelementar one. "Miscellanous transcendental" function ?What does that mean? Anyway,I think it's a beautiful function with many...- tehno

Graduate A Question to Trouble Even the Best of You
Ah,yes,yes,... To me it makes sense to start with 199 and find "minimum" prime-sequence of 10 terms with spacing 210 : 199, 409, 619, 829, 1039, 1249, 1459, 1669, 1879, 2089 . But it took me longer time ,about 10 seconds:-p- tehno
