Other What are the best $20 mathematics of physics books?
I have the opportunity to receive a book of up to a $20 value that must be related to mathematics, actuarial science, or education, so I was trying to find a good mathematics of physics or mathematics of chemistry book. Some of the ones I found are: -Mathematics of Classical and Quantum Physics...- TLeit

Dwight's vs. Burlington's Mathematical Data book?
My quantum physics professor this semester showed us a useful book he had with tables of integrals, etc. in it called "Tables of Integrals and Other Mathematical Data" (4th edition) by Herbert Bristol Dwight. I have been considering buying this book from Amazon but was waiting because today was...- TLeit

Programs Are these online master's degrees any good?
For personal reasons, I am moving to an area where there are not any larger universities that offer Master's and PhD programs, and I am also not 100% sure I want to currently pursue a PhD or not. One route that I am thinking of taking, though, is to find a job in order to see what industry is...- TLeit

Courses Which Math Elective Best Prepares for Advanced Quantum Mechanics?
I previously inquired about whether a Probability or Mathematical Statistics course would be a more useful base for learning more about advanced quantum mechanics and related subjects in the future, since I need to take one more math elective next semester for my major. From the two I decided...- TLeit

Probability or Mathematical Statistics?
Thank you for all the advice! I was leaning towards Probability and the comments on here has strengthened my leaning towards that direction. I am interested in pursuing theoretical research in graduate school (if I'm accepted), so Probability definitely sounds like the better course to take for now.- TLeit
