High School Shooting a bullet up into the air
Given that there is no wind, if you shoot a bullet straight up, when it comes back down will it be going fast enough to kill someone? I know it won't be going as fast as it was leaving the barrel of the gun because of air resistance on its trip back down, but I'm just wondering if it would still... -

The original equation is [ln(x)]^(1/x) not ln(x^(1/x)). -

Graduate What is the Correct Form of the Natural Logarithm Law for (ln(x))^(1/x)?
That's what I thought, but my friend insisted that it was true. I've been rattling my brain for about 2 days on that one, so I decided to ask here. So can you help me with limit I mentioned in my first post? I typed it wrong in the first post its the limit as x approaches infinity not zero. I... -

Graduate What is the Correct Form of the Natural Logarithm Law for (ln(x))^(1/x)?
How does (ln(x))^(1/x)=ln(x^(1/x))? A friend told me this was a true statement but could'nt prove it. If that isn't true, then how would you find the lim x->0 of (ln(x))^(1/x) using L'Hospital's Rule? -

Projectile Motion cannon off a cliff
I think I can help with this one. Think about the formula to find maximum height and then use that knowledge and a formula for final velocity that doesn't use time to get your answer.- Towk667

Projectile Motion cannon off a cliff
Using earlofwessex's idea, I start with R=((V0/g)(V0sinΘ+sqrt((V0sinΘ)^{2}+2gh) where V0 is initial velocity, Θ is the angle, R is range, g is acc due to gravity, and h is the height of the cliff. I tried to solve this equation for Θ and get: (gR)/(V0^{2})=.5sin2Θ+sqrt(sin^{2}Θ+((2gh)/V0))...- Towk667

Projectile Motion cannon off a cliff
Okay there is an object being shot from a cannon at an angle off a cliff. You are given the distance from the bottom of the cliff, the initial velocity, and the height of the cliff. What is an equation that would use these knowns to give you the measure of the angle that the object was shot at...- Towk667

Free Math Programs for Writing Formulas & Graphing: Project Solutions
I don't need something that's computational but more of something that can write formulas using integral signs, square root signs, etc. to show steps for my project. -

High School What are Some Calculus-Based Project Ideas for a High School Coal Fair?
I don't think this counts as a homework question and if it does, I'm sorry. At my high school, we have an annual coal fair and I wanted to do a calculus-based math project, but I'm having trouble coming up with any good ideas. The project can be about any part of the coal industry, so does... -
