Damped Oscillation with a Driving Force (Help)
Homework Statement A sinusoidally varying driving force is applied to a damped harmonic oscillator of force constant k and mass m. If the damping constant has a value b_1, the amplitude is A_1 when the driving angular frequency equals sqrt (k/m). In terms of A_1, what is the amplitude for...- treverd

Spacecraft Deep Impact - Comet's mass
Homework Statement On July 4, 2005, the NASA spacecraft Deep Impact fired a projectile onto the surface of Comet Tempel 1. This comet is about 9.0 {\rm km} across. Observations of surface debris released by the impact showed that dust with a speed as low as 1.0 {\rm m/s} was able to escape...- treverd

Find the magnitude of the acceleration of the particle.
I figured it outyou take ((G)(8.5)(m))/(.19m)^2 =1.57E-8 m then you take ((G)(13.5)(m))/(.31m)^2 =9.37E-9 m now just subtract the bottom one from the top to get your acceleration.- treverd

Calculating Resultant Force from Two Forces at a Point
Homework Statement Two forces, F1 and F2, act at a point. The magnitude of F1 is 9.80 , and its direction is an angle 65.0 above the x-axis in the second quadrant. The magnitude of F2 is 5.00 , and its direction is an angle 52.3 below the x-axis in the third quadrant. What is the...- treverd
