Finding gauge pressure when the faucet is turned off

would the gauge pressure have to be zero for no water to flow? and the pressure difference would be gauge pressure, what I calculated in (a), I think.

Finding gauge pressure when the faucet is turned off

to find the height, would i use torricelli's theorum and then find V1 (velocity 1)?

thank you! that really helped a lot :)

Finding gauge pressure when the faucet is turned off

ok this time i tried the differences in gauge pressure, so i subtracted pgh from 1.70 X 10^5Pa, and got 118988Pa.. would this be the right answer?

Finding gauge pressure when the faucet is turned off

i'll just use "p" for rho.. i thought the difference might be pgh, and that pgh would be the gauge pressure. so i just multiplied density of water by gravity by height.. but that didn't work. i just don't know if there's supposed to be a different equation, since the faucet is closed and...

Finding gauge pressure when the faucet is turned off

Homework Statement The main water line enters a house on the first floor. The line has a gauge pressure of 1.70 X 10^5 Pa. (a) A faucet on the second floor, 5.2 m above the first floor, is turned off. What is the gauge pressure at this faucet? Pa (b) How high above the water main could...

Circular motion of a train magnitude and angle

Homework Statement A train is rounding a circular curve whose radius is 2.00 X 10_{}2 m. At one instant, the train has an angular acceleration of 1.50 X 10^-3 rad/s_{}2 and an angular speed of 0.0400 rad/s. (a) Find the magnitude of the total acceleration (centripetal plus tangential) of the...

Finding the number of revolutions for an car in an angular system

oh sorry, the alpha stands for angular acceleration the delta of little omega stands for change in anuglar speed :]

Finding the number of revolutions for an car in an angular system

Homework Statement The angular speed of an automobile engine is increased at a constant rate from 1500 rev/min to 3900 rev/min in 14 s. (A) What is its angular acceleration in revolutions per minute-squared? (B) How many revolutions does the engine make during this 14 s interval...

    Finding time in circular motion

i keep getting 0.02 seconds, but this isn't the right answer. is this what you got, too?

    Finding time in circular motion

oh whoops. but.. i tried that and it still didn't work.. is there another equation that i should use instead? i feel that my T represents time, but not the one I'm looking for

    Finding time in circular motion

Homework Statement The tips of the blades in a food blender are moving with a speed of 15 m/s in a circle that has a radius of 0.052m. How much time does it take for the blades to make on revolution? Homework Equations T=(2XpiXr)/T T: period of time it takes to complete one cycle The...
