You know what, forget that I said there are 20 undergrads in math. I have no source to back it up. However, that info i got about 5 years ago from a math major (and he actually said 30, and that it got down to 5 in some upper year math courses so I sort of mushed up the numbers). But its...- tyro1

engsci has 300 feshmen, math has something like 20 As far as classes go, you'll feel more cozy in math I know what you're thinking, you will have big classes when you have electives, but your specialist courses will be small, especially because its math. And in EngSci, you will be friends...- tyro1

I'd say its adequate, take a look at engsci first year curriculem and math specialist curriculem online, theyre pretty much the same (but Engsci covering more subjects). Engsci math is theory based, so it is suitable for math majors. Although I would suggest that you go straight into math...- tyro1

I really can't say why its not very popular. I can throw a few guesses tho. There are less jobs out there for aerospace. Especially if your major is so specialized. And plus, designing an aircraft takes many types of specific engineers that design specific parts, not just an aerospace engineer...- tyro1

forgot to add: about your question on grad school, the statistic is that 50% of the students go to grad school (so obviously either many make the marks, or the reputation of the program ensures some bonus points) and I don't know what's the case for engineering physics program but for the...- tyro1

I am in u of t regular engineering, I've got a few friends in eng sci, The truth I find is, GPA among eng sci's and regular engineering are similar,, until you put the two in the same class room (same course). Then, it happens every time every year, the eng sci's will have 80 averages, while...- tyro1

Programs PhD Prof paid less than grade 11
I don't see the problem, $89 000 is not enough for you? Okay so a maintenance manager makes 6 figures, what about the rest of the people who are not professors or maintenance managers, what about grade 7 graduate who works minimum wage at mcdonalds? what about 90% of the other people who get...- tyro1

Graduate School for Engineering
yea, you are right, That is one of the things I am worried about when choosing area of research in grad school. I may like the sound of a research area, but once I get into it, I may not like it. I think I will go for a masters first, and go out into the work place, try to find out about hot...- tyro1

Programs PhD Prof paid less than grade 11
Based on a few articles I've read, the brain drain in the 90's nudged Canada to make effort to retain and attact bright talents, and during the 2000's climbing of funding directly related to research funding is beginning to reverse the trend, where now researchers are being attracted to Canada...- tyro1

Graduate School for Engineering
Is there a general expectation from the university for Research Masters student to go into PhD when they finish their masters? At any rate I guess they can't force me to stay. Thanks for your tips, It does seem like the general consensus is to go straight into grad school. Especially when it...- tyro1

Graduate School for Engineering
I really have no doubt that I will attend graduate school some time or another in my life. My question is about the choice of attending it straight out of undergrad, or after having worked for a few years. I am on a co-op term, and I will return to my 4th year at a Canadian university this...- tyro1

Undergrad in Mechanical Engineering and Grad in Physics
Thanks for that link, I have read "Elegant Universe" by Greene and he makes references to that person but I didn't know he had a BA in History. But I did some arithmetic and it looks like in the 4 year period after his BA and his obtaining of the Physics PhD he seem to have done some things that...- tyro1

Undergrad in Mechanical Engineering and Grad in Physics
To put simply, my curriculem covered Calc I,II,III and physics I,II,III +linear algebra and differential equiations. Vector calculus was touched on in Calc III. Although my calculus III was titled "Engineering Analysis" I don't think this is the Analysis course we are talking about. as...- tyro1
