Would this design work? (rocket)
I've actually just found out that "rocket fuel" is basically KNO3 (salt peter) and sugar. So I might make a metal rocket if I can get my hands on the supplies and find a safe place to launch.- vandorin

Would this design work? (rocket)
Thanks, and yes I've seen the 2-liter water rockets before, and I've even seen them explode, so I just wanted to make it more compact/agile, and my main concern is making the wood thin enough to go up, but strong enough to withstand the pressure.- vandorin

Other Becoming an Engineer: Considerations and Personal Experiences
I just finished my freshman year of college as a psych major. Later on I had to take a physics course over the summer to help boost my hours from 24 to 28. But after taking that class, my whole view has changed. It was an hour and 50 min class, but my attention was always captured by the things...- vandorin

Would this design work? (rocket)
I've never had an interest in rockets, or pretty much anything physics/science related until I took a physics course over the summer, and ever since then I've hardly stopped thinking about it. The question I have is, can you build a wooden rocket that uses water and compressed air to fuel it, if...- vandorin

Could Gravitational Attraction Explain the Bond Between Man and Dog?
Ok, back to the problem, G = 6.67 x 10^-11 so i Did that times 120 and got the .000000008- vandorin

Could Gravitational Attraction Explain the Bond Between Man and Dog?
Homework Statement Imagine taking your dog for a walk. You feel a real bond for man's best friend. Could this be due to gravitational attraction? Estimate the force of gravity between you and your dog. Homework Equations force~mass1 x mass2 divided by distance^2 The Attempt at a...- vandorin

Calculating Kinetic Energy of Meteor
I thought that since v is squared, you had to multiply the mass by 4...or is that only if its 2v^2?- vandorin

Calculating Kinetic Energy of Meteor
Homework Statement What is the Kineti energy of a 1g (0.001kg) meteor traveling at 30,000m/s? Express your answer in Joules. Homework Equations KE=1/2MV^2 The Attempt at a Solution 1/2(.001kg)(30,000)^2 = 450000J Now since 30,000 is squared, would i have to multiply .001kg by...- vandorin
