So essentially a resistor eats up/throws away energy?
I understand that a resistor can lower current flow at the expense of heat. So essentially a resistor eats up/throws away energy? Isn't there a better way to change current flow without throwing away energy? Thanks! ...Vern- vmars

Undergrad Can You Manually Create a Vacuum with a Plunger in a Water-Filled Tube?
I have a 6" diameter , solid bottom, transparent , upright tube, top end open. In the bottom of the tube is 3" of water, and on top of that is 3" of air at atmospheric pressure, ~15 psi. Now i insert an , air tight , plunger down thru open top , til three inches above the water. I...- vmars

High School Magnetism: 12.5 kiloGauss = lbs pull
