He was a founding member of the Grateful Dead.
The Dead broke up after Jerry died. He made many other bands, often with former Dead members.

Weir is 17 here with the Warlocks, the name change shortly after to the Grateful Dead. Notable Warlocks song: "Can't Come Down".


and one last one and I'm done. Weir is lead singer at the far right side in the video. (Sounds like Dick Nixon is the narrator.)
