Firefox Weirdness: Shift+Double Click Text Disappear?

Can a 5 Button Mouse with Firefox Switch Tabs and What's the Best Option?

Getting Shockwave & Flash Plugins to Work in Firefox on XP
I am pretty new to Firefox, but I am pretty much hooked. I do have one issue...I can't seem to get the shockwave or flash player plugins to work with it.
