SUMMARY

The discussion focuses on the adjustment calculations in levelling work, specifically comparing the adjustments for back-to-same-point levelling (TBM1) and known-to-different-point levelling. The formula for adjustment is established as (Bs - Fs) / number of points, while the end closure adjustment is calculated as end closure / number of TP. A critical point raised is the discrepancy in the number of turning points (TP) used in the adjustment for cases 392-394, where only 2 TP were present, yet the author divided by 3, leading to questions about the correctness of the adjustment method applied.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of levelling techniques in surveying
  • Familiarity with the concept of Turning Points (TP) in levelling
  • Knowledge of adjustment calculations in surveying
  • Proficiency in interpreting survey data and tables
NEXT STEPS
  • Review the principles of levelling adjustments in surveying
  • Study the impact of Turning Points on adjustment calculations
  • Learn about common errors in levelling work and how to avoid them
  • Examine case studies of levelling discrepancies and corrections
USEFUL FOR

Surveyors, civil engineers, and students in surveying courses who are involved in levelling work and need to understand adjustment calculations and their implications.

Homework Statement

in photo 391 , we can see that the levelling work is back to the same point , which is TBM1 . so , the adjustment of correction is (Bs -Fs ) / number of points ... But in 392-394 , the levelling work is from a known point to a different point ...
I'm wondering that is the adjustment correct ? It's given that adjustment = end closure / number of TP ...

Homework Equations

The Attempt at a Solution

In the table provided , we can see that there are only 2 TP , why the author divided by 3 for the case in 392-394 ? [/B]

are 392-394 wrong ? because the correction are not applied to first 3 reading ...
