Algebra review book for dad returning to university

Hello my dad wants to ingress University and he needs to recall all the basic Algebra stuff as he says he remembers basically nothing.

I checked amazon and from the ratings two books distinguish from the others with the rating.

I recommend https://www.amazon.com/dp/0817636773/?tag=pfamazon01-20 by Israel Gelfand. This book was originally written for distance education, so it will be good for self-study. He also wrote Trigonometry and a few other other books at the same level.
