I am in the process of solving a logic puzzle. This is the extended and much much more challenging version of the popular Einstein's puzzle. From the source, it is said that the person who can solve this puzzle must be brilliant. Here is the puzzle:

On the Miss World night, there are 7 most beautiful candidates selected from the last rounds. These 7 beautiful ladies are ranked from 1 to 7. They stand from left to right according to the rank i.e., the most beautiful stands on the left, then the second most beautiful and so on. Each lady has unique characteristics on nationality, dress they wear, hotel they stay, music, book, drinking favorite, and physical beauty. The information is listed belows:

Lady with black dress stand next to lady ranked number 3.
Lady from Vietnam stays in Kozz hotel.
Lady with red dress stands next to lady who like beer.
Lady who likes Rock also has the most beautiful legs.
Lady from Brazil stand next to lady with purple dress.
Lady who likes mild stands next lady from India.
Lady ranked 6 has the most beautiful lips.
Lady with the most beautiful hairs like Economics books.
Lady staying in Diamond hotel stands next to lady with the most beautiful eyes.
Lady ranked 3 likes Science books.
Lady wit whie dress likes tea.
Lady with yellow dress is from Italia.
Lady ranked 5 likes Pop music.

I think what he was asking is whether 1 to 7 is ugly to beautiful or whether it was beautiful to ugly. Not that any of them are ugly, per se, but just wondering if "7" meant most beautiful or if it meant least beautiful.

Wonderful post it if you want, but make sure that it is in a font colour that you can avoid, like in white or something...

It does seem like there are one or two clues missing...would be nice to know what music style was preferred by #6, and/or what book style was preferred by #2.

This is a good observation Brads77. According to the maker of this puzzle, "seemingly missing clues" make the puzzle more interesting. As a hint, there may be more than one solution.

I can see how there would be more than one solution...but I am not sure it makes it more interesting. I like the certainty of getting one solution.

Does the source state there is one solution only? Is the notion of multiple solutions your conclusion?

I found 2 solutions and discussed with the person who makes this question. He told me both my solutions are correct and that's his intention to have multiple solutions.

I wrote a program that solves this puzzle and got 25408 different solutions. Am I missing somthing, or is it just unsuccessful attempt to design a 7x7 grid puzzle?
