"I pity the fool" and all that jazz. Probably done every year but what the the best April Fools pranks you have done or have had done to you?

It may give some of us some ideas! :devil:

My ex-husband (we were married at the time) got up early and moved my new BMW down the street, ran into the bedroom, woke me up and announced that my car had been stolen. :devil: :devil: :devil:

It wasn't funny.
 
I one time when I was playing on my PS2 my sisters came in and watch me I was very focused on the game and... let me just they decided to bring that nail stuff that girls put on toes on my room...It wasn't not funny

I think April Fool's jokes are a bit childish.

In Australia and New Zealand if you play an April Fools day prank past noon on April 1st, shame on you, you're an idiot.

I find that mildly entertaining.

This year, our local one did an article on the newly discovered viking settlement in a nearby small town :smile: :biggrin:
My dad read through half of it before realizing it. When I looked at it, I had a feeling something was up so I skipped to the last paragraph where it revealed it's prankfullness. :biggrin:

i once called my father up while he was on his way to work, told him that the crane he spent a ****load of time fixing that he had finished just the day before, had broken down and the owner is pissed... so he turned around and was driving the other way for a good 20min when i called him back and told him april fools, good thing he was so far away from me, i might of been killed otherwise

This is where you have to learn the appropriate timing to ensure it stays funny and doesn't go too far. Letting him drive 20 min out of the way, and then have to drive 20 min back when he was on the way to work is a good way to just piss someone off. Something like that shouldn't go more than 2-5 min before you clue him in if he didn't figure out it was April Fools on his own.

It's no fun...today is Saturday, so I can't get anyone in the lab for April Fools. Besides, we have one person in the lab who has NO sense of humor, so as tempting as it would be for us to prank her, it would end up causing more trouble than fun in the end.

She'd probably shriek that she's allergic to water and sue me. :rolleyes: It's best not to ask. We're all trying our best to help her find a position somewhere else so she's someone else's problem.

I'm going to meet up with some of them tonight...I'm not a very convincing liar, so not sure I can pull it off, but maybe I can try something like saying I was there all day with one of the other faculty who happened to come in today (to explain why I didn't call them into help), trying to clean up the mess from the freezer that broke down last night, and don't think we will be able to salvage many of the samples that thawed. We have a master's student who might be gullible enough to buy that (the post-doc would know that a few hours of thawing won't hurt those samples...we have to thaw them to use them)...and she has one project left to finish her degree, which depends on the samples currently in that freezer. :devil:

If you're looking for ideas, I have one the entire town will get a kick out of. You'll have to hustle though.

You need one tonne of iron fillings and one tonne of sulphur. Add enough water to mix them into a paste, then bury the mixture in the middle of a park in mid-downtown. Geologists will immediately flock to your town, while town residents first salivate at the tourist opportunities offered by a downtown volcano, then panic when they find out how big volcanic mountains can become.

At a place I worrked, I placed several pairs of old shoes and pants I had bought at flea market (for just such purposes) into every stall of every men's bathroom in the configuration of the pants down around the shoes. If you bent over and looked under you could tell it was a just, but at a casual glance, the stalls looked occupied.

There was that radio program (Sabanas con chinchetas) that i heard every night. A long program, running for about 6 hours, in which the presenter chose every night a particular theme of conversation ( football, love, jokes, whatever, with the exception of one day a week when the theme was free) and then people (mostly teenagers) called to talk about the subject (2 people at a time). The presenter held a party in a disco twice a month, and a lot of the listeners of the program came to the party to socialize. Then in one of the free subject programs, a lot of girls started to call saying that the presenter had abused of them during the parties, and that he was going to be dennounced. He denied all the accusations, but I was shocked as I regarded him as a good person. Then after 4 hours with 10 or so girls having accused him, he unveiled that all was a joke, and the girls had collaborated in the joke. Then he said that we were on 29 December, traditional day of jokes, fact that I had badly forgotten
