Hello!

Do you know, or know where to find, the limits of imaging via waves, ie. let's say we have a biphase material, can we identify precisely the margin between phase? Or can we detect any kind of material?

What are you thinking of? Imaging is not restricted to visible light, nor is it limited to diffraction limits (near field methods). Contrast generation can be achieved by many methods as well.
 
Is there a good summary of those methods, their applications, their frontiers and their limits?

So far, l know that the reflection of various waves to items can produce their "image"

What are the available waves and any other possible methods?
