Users are experiencing issues changing their avatars, questioning whether it is a software bug. The process involves navigating to the profile, selecting the edit option, and uploading a new image, but some users report it not functioning correctly. Caching may be causing discrepancies, as different avatars appear for different users. The conversation also touches on personal anecdotes and current events, but remains focused on the avatar issue. Resolving the avatar change problem may require patience due to caching effects.

I cannot change my avatar. Is this a software bug that needs fixing? @Greg Bernhardt

Where specifically did that fail? if you go to your profile, hover over the avatar image, click on the edit button, select Use a custom avatar. select Upload new custom avatar, hit the Choose File button, then select an image file, then hit the Okay button, that doesn't do it? what is failing?

But if I look at your profile, I see a different avatar that looks like fireworks.
