David Prowse, the actor who played Darth Vader in the original Star Wars films, has died, the Associated Press reported. He was 85.

George Lucas asked Prowse to audition for Star Wars after seeing the 6-foot-6 actor in the 1971 Stanley Kubrick film A Clockwork Orange. Prowse had his choice of playing Chewbacca or Vader, and opted for the latter because, as he told the BBC, “you always remember the bad guy.” Plus, he added, he didn’t fancy wearing Chewbacca’s fur suit.

The most remarkable character in the saga, along with Carrie Fisher's and Natalie Portman's (my favourite actress)
Long live, Darth Vader and Princess Leia

Fans can see David Prowse play a tall muscular (naturally) bodyguard in the late Stanley Kubrick's film "A Clockwork Orange" (1971). https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0066921/characters/nm0001190?ref_=tt_mv_close

IMS he appears as a bouncer at the Korova milk bar intimidating Alex and his droogs and, later in the film, as Julian helping care for the disabled survivor from the brutal 'Home' invasion. The scenes where Julian carries injured Alex (Malcolm McDowell) are priceless. I did not realize the same actor played Darth Vader until reading his obit.
