Discussion Overview

The discussion revolves around the concept of voids in thermo-elastic solids, specifically in the context of plane waves. Participants are exploring the implications of voids on the heat equation as described in the works of Green and Naghdi.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory, Technical explanation, Conceptual clarification

Main Points Raised

  • One participant inquires about the nature of voids in thermo-elastic solids and their classification as pores.
  • Another participant suggests that large voids lead to highly nonlinear interactions, while small voids can be analyzed using asymptotic analysis.
  • A third participant expresses confusion and prompts the original poster to clarify their specific question regarding the study of plane waves in voided materials.
  • The original poster confirms their focus on the effects of voids on the heat equation as per the theories of Green and Naghdi.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants have not reached a consensus, and multiple perspectives regarding the analysis of voids and their effects remain present in the discussion.

Contextual Notes

The discussion may be limited by assumptions regarding the definitions of voids and the specific conditions under which the heat equation is applied in the context of Green and Naghdi's theories.

Dear Fellows
If I am on wrong part of forum then sory for that ,

I need some help regarding VOIDS,,, there are so many work done on voids titled as,

PLANE WAVES IN THERMO-ELASTIC SOLID WITH VOIDS,

and in abstract they said that ,

small voids are considered as pores in that solid,,

can anyone please help me in this issue...

If te voive in large then the interactions will be highly nonlinear but if they are small they they can be analysed by asymptotic analysis.

I'm confused.

You need to ask a question about your problem.

Are you studying planewaves in voided materials?

Yes I am studying plane waves with voided material,

I need to know the effect voids on heat equation of

GREEN AND NAGHDI(II and III)
