SUMMARY

The discussion centers on a student's struggles with Statistics 1001, specifically regarding regression analysis and related concepts such as z-scores. The student expresses difficulty due to language barriers with the instructor and a lack of examples in the textbook. They seek assistance with specific homework questions, including questions 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 9, and request clear steps or equations to solve these problems. The student is encouraged to show their attempts at solving the problems to facilitate better assistance.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of basic statistical concepts, particularly regression analysis.
  • Familiarity with z-scores and their application in statistics.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze statistical problems from textbooks.
  • Basic problem-solving skills in mathematics.
NEXT STEPS
  • Research regression analysis techniques and their applications in statistics.
  • Learn how to calculate and interpret z-scores in various contexts.
  • Explore online resources or tutorials for Statistics 1001 to gain additional examples.
  • Practice solving statistical problems using step-by-step methods to improve understanding.
USEFUL FOR

This discussion is beneficial for students enrolled in introductory statistics courses, particularly those facing challenges with regression analysis and z-scores. It is also useful for educators seeking to understand common student difficulties in teaching statistics.

hello, I'm a newcomer here  i am taking statistics 1001 and am having a horrible time with this weeks homework. it basically has to do with regression. unfortunately my teacher barely speaks english and it was especially hard to understand her this week (is she speaking about z-scores - or did she say b lor? or hippo? honestly, it's that bad) also, this particular section in my book doesn't give many examples on how to work out these problems. any help (the steps/equations i need to take to get to my answers or something of the like) you could give me would be great!

i have to do questions 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 9

here are links to scanned images of the questions

You need to show where you got in your attempts at solving the problems before anyone can help.
