Dressing and Entertaining for a PF Party

How would you dress for a party of pf ers, what would you bring to the party, could you entertain us ?

I'd bring Mexican and Chinese food and appropriate beverages.

I'd bring my karaoke system and force Astronuc to sing "The Future's So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades".

I'd bring my dog. He loves meeting people. Ignore the excited "woofs" and watch that tail and wiggly butt.

Mexician food, veggie platter, drinks. Different wines and breads with spreads.
Wear long dark/black skirt as always with something different. Like a pirate shirt and vest with my new fedora.
I would bring music videos and violin. Have a piano available and of course some bongo drums. several.
Costumes! Differents hats and masks.
And special I would hire ethnic dancers to engage the people and teach new dances.
Would make sure there was a place for people to hide and rest and security in case I got out of hand.

And dog food with water dish and soft blanket off to the side in a warm place for Turbo's dog who might want to rest.

That's a given, though you have to watch out for English hosts who might keep the beer on a shelf instead of chilling it ice-cold.

I haz no dancing shoes - never got good at dancing because I was almost always on-stage supplying the music. I can bring a guitar or two and a snarly little Fender Vibro-Champ that I restored. That little amp sounds huge.

Wow. I just back from buying a case of beer and noticed a big bottle of "Southern Comfort Eggnog" sitting there.

A bit of trivia that I should probably have saved for PF Chat: probably everybody here is familiar with Layla and other songs from Derek and the Dominos. What amps did Duane Allman and Clapton use to get that "big" sound? Fender Champs. Studio-supplied little amps that they set on the top of the upright piano so that they could hear each other over the drums, bass, etc. I still have two of the Vibro-Champs (one 65 black-face and an early 70's silver-face) and even though I don't play out professionally anymore, I just can't get rid of them. As restoration-projects, they are my "babies". I also have a monster 2x10 amp that was built by a dear friend of mine (in large part to my specs). We'd spend hours on the phone every week talking about desired tonal characteristics. He didn't make too many of the Turbo-Pups in part because his job was so demanding and having an almost full-time manufacturing job on the side was robbing him of time with his lovely wife and daughters.

I think your not aiming high enough. Ask Lisab to do the audition scene from Flashdance, What A Feeling. After that she can spin you around like a baton until your biker boots fly off.

There are lots of photographers so you don't have to worry about not seeing it.
You can use my ballroom. There will be good space for the high toss.

They would get along famously, I'm sure. A couple of months back, my wife started asking about wild animals. She gets up very early, and takes Duke out for a walk before she even has her coffee or a breakfast, and she'd mention that Duke had been nose-to-nose with some critter out in the dark that was dark and light (at least in the light of our little flashlight). Eventually, I found that guy - a porcupine that was living under the tarp covering my tractor's tiller attachment. I dispatched him because the chance of a "misunderstanding" could have caused Duke a lot of misery. Porky was ridden with sarcoptic mange and had no hair on his hind legs at all - crusty, oozing, and bad-smelling. He was living off the apples, pears, etc under our fruit trees and couldn't possibly have made it through the winter without his natural insulation.

Duke loves other animals. When I am walking him and he sees a fisher or some other other smaller critter, he wants to get away from me to chase them down. Not to hurt them, but to "be friends". A fisher might not take that attention as kindly as a well-armed porcupine, but he's up for it.
