Wow, one of the main malls in the capital of my country had an "accident".

SANTO DOMINGO.- One man died and two others were wounded from of a powerful explosion this morning in the Diamond Mall plaza, in this city’s Arroyo Hondo sector. The blast destroyed dozens of stores and caused serious structural damage to the building.

Alcibíades Herrera, 40, driver of the bakery, died in the Plaza de la Salud hospital, where he was taken after receiving injuries and severe burns from the explosion, said the National District Fire Department.

Two other people were wounded, but their identities were not provided.

A part of Diamond Mall will have to be demolished because of the damage, said the Fire Department chief Oscar Guillermo Garcia, adding that the explosion occurred at 7:05 AM inside the shopping center, located between Los Próceres avenue and Euclides Morillo street.

It was supposedly a gas leak. Luckily it was early in the morning, so the Mall wasn't full of people.
