SUMMARY

The discussion centers on exporting MATLAB plots to PDF without whitespace. The user sought a method to ensure the graph occupies most of the PDF page. Niles provided a solution, referencing a MathWorks thread that outlines the necessary steps to achieve this formatting in MATLAB. The key takeaway is the importance of adjusting plot properties to eliminate excess margins during export.

PREREQUISITES
  • Familiarity with MATLAB plotting functions
  • Understanding of PDF export settings in MATLAB
  • Knowledge of figure properties in MATLAB
  • Basic experience with MATLAB Central resources
NEXT STEPS
  • Research how to adjust figure properties in MATLAB for optimal export
  • Learn about MATLAB's 'PaperPosition' and 'PaperSize' properties
  • Explore the MathWorks documentation on exporting figures
  • Investigate community threads on MATLAB Central for additional tips
USEFUL FOR

Data scientists, engineers, and researchers who utilize MATLAB for data visualization and need to produce high-quality PDF outputs without whitespace.

Hi guys

I have been spending a lot of time trying to figure out how to export a plot in MATLAB (to pdf), where the graph fills most of the pdf page, i.e. no whitespace. I can't seem to find the property. Can you give me a hint?

Niles.
