SUMMARY

The discussion focuses on the challenge of finding specific mathematical symbols, namely 'N' for natural numbers and 'C' for complex numbers, in Microsoft Word's Equation Editor. Users have noted that while these symbols are available in MathType, a paid version of the Equation Editor, they are not easily accessible in the standard Equation Editor. A workaround suggested involves using a document created in MathType that contains the desired symbols, allowing users to copy and paste them into their own documents.

PREREQUISITES
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word's Equation Editor
  • Understanding of MathType software
  • Basic knowledge of mathematical notation
  • Ability to copy and paste text and symbols in Word
NEXT STEPS
  • Explore the features of MathType to understand its advantages over the standard Equation Editor
  • Learn how to create and manage custom symbols in Microsoft Word
  • Investigate alternative mathematical symbol libraries available for Word
  • Research methods for importing symbols from external documents into Word
USEFUL FOR

This discussion is beneficial for students, educators, and professionals who frequently use Microsoft Word for mathematical documentation and require access to a broader range of mathematical symbols.

I use Math Type, which is the pay version of Equation Editor. The N and C are included in Math Type, but I can't check Equation Editor as Math Type installs itself over Equation Editor. I know one of the selling features for upgrading is that Math Type has more symbols.

Try this. I've made a document that contains N and C made from Math Type. Maybe you can open it and copy and paste them into your document.
