SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the need for effective online resources for General Chemistry, particularly for topics like Quantum Theory and Gases. The user expresses dissatisfaction with the assigned textbook, McQuarrie, and finds Brown-Lemay Chemistry to be a better alternative, albeit not perfectly aligned with the course material. The urgency is highlighted by an upcoming exam next Tuesday, prompting the search for reliable online materials to aid in understanding the complex concepts.

PREREQUISITES
  • Familiarity with basic chemistry concepts
  • Understanding of Quantum Theory principles
  • Knowledge of gas laws and behavior
  • Ability to navigate online educational resources
NEXT STEPS
  • Explore online platforms like Khan Academy for General Chemistry tutorials
  • Research YouTube channels dedicated to chemistry education, such as CrashCourse Chemistry
  • Investigate online forums for updated resource links, particularly on Quantum Theory and Gases
  • Look into supplemental textbooks or e-books that cover General Chemistry topics comprehensively
USEFUL FOR

Students struggling with General Chemistry concepts, particularly those preparing for exams, educators seeking supplementary materials, and anyone looking to enhance their understanding of Quantum Theory and Gases.

Hi, my Prof. for general chemistry isn't too great, as he often goes on tangents and doesn't explain the required material.

The textbook assigned (mcquarrie) is also really bad, so I've been instead reading Brown-Lemay Chemistry, which is better. Unfortunately, it doesn't cover the material exactly, so I am stuck trying to learn it myself.

The exam is next Tuesday, and while I am familiar with most of the concepts, the more recent ones (Quantum theory + Gases) are harder to understand.

Are there any online resources that I could review with?

Thanks in advance!

Hi, thanks for the referral, but unfortunately it seems that many of the links are dead.

Does anyone have more recent links to resources?
