Jeff and Paula's only child has been out of the house for a few years and has a family of her own, so Sparky's getting a lot of attention. When they visited Maine a while back, they wanted to get away for a few days, so my father agreed to look after Sparky. He did NOT want to give him back. The little guy is smart as hell and really personable. My father just turned 80 and I can't convince him to get a Westie because he doesn't want to saddle a lively dog with an older person (though he walks several miles every day).
