Hi everyone. Figured I should finally make an account after lurking here for basically my entire undergrad and grad school years.

I'm Nora. My background is mostly in computational physics and finite element modeling (heavy on the MATLAB and COMSOL side). Lately, I've been doing a lot of industry-level data work and realized I'm starting to forget the actual underlying physics of the systems I'm modeling. It's a really bad habit when you rely way too much on the software solvers doing the heavy lifting for you.

Anyway, I'm hoping to use the forums to brush up on my classical mechanics and maybe some condensed matter stuff. Mostly just looking forward to actually participating instead of just reading your old threads from 2014 every time I get stuck on a PDE.

Glad to be here!

Welcome to PF. Now the real question: Python or MATLAB? The greatest debate in all of computational physics. I have a friend who does metal sciences.
