Hello everyone! My name is Thi, but you can call me Uncle Thi. I’m from Vietnam and joined this forum because I have a strong passion for physics, especially in understanding the nature of reality, space, time, and quantum gravity.

Although I am not a professional physicist, I spend a lot of time researching, analyzing, and critically evaluating current theories to gain a deeper understanding of how the universe works. I am eager to learn from everyone and participate in interesting discussions here.

Looking forward to engaging with all of you!

Judging from your other thread this is not true. You have come here not to learn but to push your own philosophy.

I don't remember my mom every mentioning you, so I'm doubtful that you are my uncle.

Haha, don't worry, I don't plan on crashing your house for New Year's.
Well, it's just a nickname, don't take it too seriously!

May I ask if an automatic translator has suggested "uncle" as the English equivalent of some term in Thai that doesn't always mean "my parent's brother"?

I ask to understand. I'm just searching for the truth. Science is always about asking questions to find the truth! Isn't that right?

It's just a nickname, nothing more.

Not really. Truth is not defined in physics.

I thought that in Asian cultures, "uncle" was at least to some extent an honorarium for an older unrelated male, no?

I'd like to rephrase that. Physics is not looking for absolute truth. Newton discovered the classical law of gravity. That has been a cornerstone of physics for 350 years. But, it is only an approximation to the theory of GR in certain cases. Likewise, GR cannot yet be explained through the interactions of elementary particles. Modern physics is more pragmatic and accepting of its limitations.

Yes, that's correct! In many Asian cultures, "uncle" or "elder" is often used as a respectful form of address for older men, even if they are not related by blood. This is a part of cultural communication to show respect and closeness.
Thank you.
