How can I extract carbohydrates from vegetables to refuel mushroom logs?

I own a mushroom business. In this business we grow oyster mushrooms. Oyster mushrooms life of carbohydrates so I need a way to extract those carbohydrates from vegetables.

I need this because the mushrooms grow on logs with is mad of grass and spawn. After a while the log dries out. I want to inject those carbohydrates into the log to refuel it.
