What metric space is this? \mathbb R, or \mathbb R^n for some other n? Are you allowed to use a computer, or are you supposed to plot it manually?

Its R^2 metric space. plot it manually.

I would say plot the solutions of the equation d(x,0)=1 for several different values of a,b,c.
For a=c>0, b=0 you get circles.
