URGENT! NEED IMMEDIATE HELP -- Finance Equations

I need to figure out this finance calculator out almost immediately.

http://fdc.mortgage101.com/content/express/articles.asp?category=calculators&article=1177&p=securitym&acctid=304592

I need to know how the equations and formulas work on this page. I have not been able to figure out the exact equations for each output which is dependent upon the input.

I have set up an excel document that I tried to figure out all of the equations in, but I wasnt very successful. Nonetheless, if you need a good place to work, the file is located here... http://www.pyropixel.com/upload/finance.xls

And please do not use any of excel's built in functions, I need everything in algebraic forum.

Thank you,
Sitedesigner

That definitely sounds like a homework assignment. What have you done so far? I also suggest digging into your textbook to dig out the "formulas." Understanding the principles (not principals) behind them would be even better. :)

No TextBook :-\

Just need to understand it, I have no background in finanace like this whatsoever.

Here's a partial answer:

thanks

thank you for that equation. could you help with any more of it?

thanks

Here's one:

[tex]appreciated value = (1+appreciation rate)^{number of years} \times Start value[/tex]

I suggest digging into some some business references to understand the basic principles for the rest of the assignment.

are there any good business references online? I am having trouble finding anything.

There probably are but I've never had need of one so I've never looked. Perhaps someone else can point the way.

You're basically asking for an on-line course in basic economic analysis, which would be covered in a course on engineering economics, or similar course convering applied economics. I have not seen one, however look at these links particularly the last one.

Here are some formulas.
