How do nerves and pacemakers work from a physics perspective?

Hey everyone!

This is a plea for help! :) I was wondering if anyone could explain to me from a physics point of view how the heart/nerves work, and also if possible a pacemaker!

Any points would be great, I am feeling a bit lost!
