SUMMARY

The calculation of profit from selling T-shirts involves determining the revenue generated from sales and subtracting the initial investment. In this case, an investment of $180 was made to sell 26 T-shirts at a price of $10.25 each. The profit calculation is as follows: P = (10.25 * 26) - 180, resulting in a profit of $86.50. This calculation is confirmed as correct, demonstrating a clear understanding of profit as revenue minus costs.

You invest in a company that purchases T-shirts and resells them for a profit. You invest 180 dollars and sell each shirt for 10.25. If you sell 26 shirts, what is your profit?

My Work:

Let P = profit

P = (price of each shirt)(total amount of shirts sold) - (amount invested)

P = (10.25)(26) - 180

P = 266.50 - 180

P = $86.50

Is this correct?
