How Do You Integrate (2x^2+1)/x?

I haven't done much math for years.

just a little reminder would be very appreciated.

when you take integral for (2x^2+1)/x dx

I believe this can break down into integral 2x dx + integral 1/x dx

What I wondered about was is this summation of those two as written above

or the subtraction (integral 2x dx - integral 1/x dx)

You have it right. The integral can be split into two integrals like you have.

$$\frac{2x^2+ 1}{x}= \frac{2x^2}{x}+ \frac{1}{x}= 2x+ \frac{1}{x}$$

Why would you even consider changing the "+" to "-"?
