how does vertical distance affect a given weight? for example...does one lb act heavier, thus requiring more force to raise, the higher its lifted? I want to know if 235lbs lifted 38 inches vertically takes the same amount of force to lift the same amount of weight (235lbs) 48 inches high.
Thank you

The force is the same, but the work required increases when the distance raised increases.
