SUMMARY

The discussion focuses on the issue of persistent blue boxes appearing around axis labels in the SciDAVis plotting application on an Athlon-based system running Debian Linux. Users reported that these blue boxes remain visible even after exporting the plot. A temporary solution involves closing and reopening the project, which eliminates the blue boxes. However, no specific setting within SciDAVis was identified to permanently disable this feature.

PREREQUISITES
  • Familiarity with SciDAVis version used for plotting
  • Basic understanding of Debian Linux operating system
  • Knowledge of graphing functions and axis labeling
  • Experience with image editing tools for post-export modifications
NEXT STEPS
  • Investigate SciDAVis documentation for updates on axis label formatting
  • Explore user forums for potential patches or workarounds for the blue box issue
  • Learn about exporting options in SciDAVis to improve plot quality
  • Research alternative plotting applications that may not have this issue
USEFUL FOR

This discussion is beneficial for data analysts, researchers, and students using SciDAVis for plotting functions, particularly those encountering graphical export issues and seeking efficient solutions.

m using SciDAVis on a Athlon based system running Debian Linux. I am try to produce some graph of functions. The math part is working fine. However, when I try to change the axis labels, a blue box forms around the axis label and remains there.

When I export the plot, the blue box is still there. There seems to be an absence of any setting that I can find to turn off the blue box. I can erase it with a image editor, alhtough I'd rather just get rid of it in SciDAVis if possible.

OK, well as I start making my way up the new app learning curve, I have noticed that if the project is closed then re-opened the blue boxes go away.

One less thing to worry about...
