Info escape from BH (videos up from Nordita conference)

In summary, 20 videos from last summer's conference, "Holography, Gravity and Black Holes," have been posted on the Nordita website. These include a variety of talks from renowned physicists, such as Carlo Rovelli's presentation on a solution of general relativity that allows for the transition of a black hole to a white hole. The conference also focused on the explosion of primordial black holes, which may have been observed. While only two talks were initially posted, the remaining videos are now available and gaining views. The conference featured prominent figures like Stephen Hawking and Malcolm Perry, and was partly organized to showcase Hawking's recent ideas.

For example here is Rovelli's 39 minute talk on a solution of GR which allows tunneling of BH to WH and calculating time and amplitudes for transition of collapse to explosion.

Particularly interesting in the case of primordial BHs (e.g. masses on the order of the Earth's moon with Schw radius around 0.02 cm) whose explosions may have been observed.

For the first 6 or 7 months after the conference there were only two talks posted at that site, so they racked up a lot of hits. You can see which they are. But recently videos for the other talks were posted and are beginning to accumulate views. A lot of well-known people took part in the conference. Not just Stephen Hawking and Malcolm Perry. (But it was organized in part to publicize some recent ideas of Hawking.)

What is "Info escape from BH"?

"Info escape from BH" refers to the concept of information escaping from a black hole, which was discussed at a conference held at Nordita (Nordic Institute for Theoretical Physics).

Why is the escape of information from a black hole important?

The escape of information from a black hole is important because it challenges our understanding of the laws of physics. According to the principle of black hole thermodynamics, information should not be able to escape from a black hole. However, some theories suggest that information can escape in certain scenarios, which could have significant implications for our understanding of the universe.

What were the main points discussed at the Nordita conference about info escape from BH?

The main points discussed at the Nordita conference about info escape from BH included the current theories and research on the topic, the potential implications for our understanding of physics, and the challenges and obstacles in studying this phenomenon.

What are some current theories about info escape from BH?

Some current theories about info escape from BH include the firewall theory, which suggests that information is destroyed at the event horizon of a black hole, and the entanglement theory, which proposes that information is encoded in the particles that escape from a black hole.

How can we study or observe the escape of information from a black hole?

Studying or observing the escape of information from a black hole is a complex and challenging task. Some methods that have been proposed include analyzing the Hawking radiation emitted by black holes and studying the behavior of particles near the event horizon. However, more research and advancements in technology are needed to fully understand and observe this phenomenon.
