SUMMARY

Twenty videos from the Nordita conference held last summer have been made available online, showcasing significant discussions in the field of black hole (BH) research. Notably, Carlo Rovelli's 39-minute presentation addresses a solution to General Relativity (GR) that facilitates the tunneling of black holes to white holes (WH) and explores the calculations of time and amplitudes for the transition from collapse to explosion. The videos include contributions from prominent figures in the field, including Stephen Hawking and Malcolm Perry, and have begun to accumulate views after a slow initial release.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of General Relativity (GR)
  • Familiarity with black hole physics
  • Knowledge of white hole theories
  • Basic concepts of quantum mechanics
NEXT STEPS
  • Watch Carlo Rovelli's talk on the Nordita conference website
  • Research the implications of primordial black holes and their characteristics
  • Explore the concept of tunneling in quantum gravity
  • Investigate Stephen Hawking's recent theories on black holes
USEFUL FOR

Researchers, physicists, and students interested in advanced topics in black hole physics, quantum gravity, and the latest developments in theoretical physics.

For example here is Rovelli's 39 minute talk on a solution of GR which allows tunneling of BH to WH and calculating time and amplitudes for transition of collapse to explosion.

Particularly interesting in the case of primordial BHs (e.g. masses on the order of the Earth's moon with Schw radius around 0.02 cm) whose explosions may have been observed.

For the first 6 or 7 months after the conference there were only two talks posted at that site, so they racked up a lot of hits. You can see which they are. But recently videos for the other talks were posted and are beginning to accumulate views. A lot of well-known people took part in the conference. Not just Stephen Hawking and Malcolm Perry. (But it was organized in part to publicize some recent ideas of Hawking.)
