The PBR theorem excludes epistemic interpretations that have underlying ontic states as they are not consistent with QM. Would this rule out consistent histories? The research below argues it does

Not quite. The paper says that consistent histories violates some of the assumptions that underlie the PBR theorem, so the theorem can't be used to rule them out rigorously. The author of the paper just says he thinks such interpretations are ruled out anyway, even if you can't use the PBR theorem to do it.

In Section 4.2 the author writes:

"Since the quantum measure is affected by the particulars of the measurements/histories considered..."

I'm not sure how to interpret this statement.

Does it mean that the state vector ##\psi## already encodes the measurement history (or the choice of histories) in some way?

Or is ##\psi## still just the instantaneous quantum state, with the quantum measure depending on the measurement history that led to that state?

In other words, is ##\psi## merely the current state of the system, or does it already contain information about the history of measurements/histories used to construct the quantum measure?
