SUMMARY

This discussion centers on the search for comprehensive literature on focusing laser beams, specifically high energy pulsed lasers. Key topics of interest include the M^2 factor, top hat beam shapers, ray tracing, and fiber optics. The user has already consulted "Basics of Laser Physics" by Renk but found it lacking in depth on these subjects. A recommended resource is available on Amazon, which may provide the necessary insights.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of high energy pulsed lasers
  • Familiarity with the M^2 factor in beam quality
  • Knowledge of top hat beam shapers
  • Basic principles of ray tracing and fiber optics
NEXT STEPS
  • Research advanced texts on high energy pulsed lasers
  • Explore literature specifically on the M^2 factor and its implications
  • Investigate the design and application of top hat beam shapers
  • Learn about ray tracing techniques in optical systems
USEFUL FOR

Laser physicists, optical engineers, and researchers focusing on laser beam manipulation and applications in various technologies.

Does anyone have a good book on focussing laser beams? I'm working on a project and I want to know more about focussing high energy pulsed lasers, M^2 factor, top hat beam shapers, ray tracing and fiber optics. I've read Renk, Basics of Laser Physics but these subjects are only discussed very briefly.
