In summary, to make a copy of a KNOPPIX 5.0 disc that boots, you will need a disc burning software and a blank disc or a disc imaging software and a USB drive. Simply insert the disc into the computer and follow the prompts to create a copy. This can also be done with a USB drive. However, it is not possible to make a copy without a disc burning software. It is recommended to create a separate copy for each computer to ensure optimal performance.

I had a KNOPPIX 5.0 disc. I made a copy of the files on this disc, but I then damaged the disc. I have tried simply burning these files onto a dvd disc but it won't boot.

Can I use the files that I saved to created a "bootable" KNOPPIX disc?

You can make a bootable USB stick of Knoppix as an alternative. Knoppix for CD or DVD is probably in ISO format so you need to have burner software that supports that format.
