Discussion Overview

The discussion revolves around how to refresh knowledge in physics after a significant gap, particularly for someone who has completed a Master's degree. Participants explore suggestions for online courses and resources to aid in this process.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory, Homework-related

Main Points Raised

  • One participant inquires about online courses to help refresh their physics knowledge after completing a Master's degree.
  • Another suggests searching for YouTube content, noting that physics topics have become more specialized and recommending Lenny Susskind's courses on the Stanford channel.
  • A different participant requests clarification on the specific branch of physics and the type of online course desired, such as whether it should be free or from a university.
  • One participant reiterates the initial request for help and suggests YouTube as a resource for conceptual knowledge and tutorials in relevant mathematics.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants express varying opinions on the best resources for refreshing physics knowledge, with no consensus on a specific course or approach. Multiple suggestions are offered, indicating differing preferences and experiences.

Contextual Notes

Some responses depend on the specific area of physics the original poster is interested in, and there is an assumption that the individual has a foundational understanding from their Master's program.

Who May Find This Useful

Individuals looking to refresh their physics knowledge, particularly those with a background in graduate-level physics, may find this discussion relevant.

I have forgotten physics in which I have done my Masters. Can anyone help how to start again?Any Online course?

Any Online course?

Hmm... Perhaps a youtube search, ole chap? I wouldn't look under "Masters of physics refresher," though. Things are a lot more specialized these days it seems. It basically breaks down like the subtopics on this website, quantum, relativity, classical, etc. If you are a master, though, I'd recommend Lenny Susskind's courses on the Stanford channel.

Masters means Graduate Course no. Plz. specify Physics is your subject or its brach, what type of online course you want Free, from university etc

How long ago did you do your Masters? Youtube would be a good place to start, lots of conceptual knowledgeable on there, plus loads of tutorials on calculus and the other relevant areas of mathematics you might be interested in. Is there anything in particular you are looking to refresh?
