Max lifting capacity for an average human adult

Click For Summary
The discussion centers on the maximum lifting capacity of an average adult, particularly in the context of manufacturing and assembly tasks. It references OSHA guidelines, suggesting that the safe lifting limit is around 22.7 kg (50 lbs) for most individuals, with heavier loads requiring assistance or mechanical aids. Participants emphasize the importance of considering factors like body conditioning and proper lifting techniques to avoid injury. There is also mention of varying lifting requirements in different job contexts, but generally, no formal distinctions based on gender are noted. The consensus highlights the need for careful planning in design to ensure safety during manual handling.

Wow, @Rx7man, ##-## I hope that no-one was injured . . .
nope, wouldn't have wanted to be around any trees right then though.. There's a huge fir by our house and it was LEANING but it stayed put.. we had an arborist trim our willow (60" base) a few years ago, we were glad for that, it overhangs the house pretty good
