Neutron Star EoS: Find the Equation of State

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

The discussion focuses on finding a suitable equation of state (EoS) for neutron stars, specifically starting with a degenerate neutron gas. The user references the equations P=Mn c² Φ(x) / 8π²λ³ and ε= Mn c² Ψ(x) / 8π²λ³ as part of their inquiry. They also provide a link to a relevant paper on arXiv (https://arxiv.org/pdf/1305.3510.pdf) and recommend using the ADS-Harvard search website for further research on neutron star EoS.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of neutron gas physics
  • Familiarity with equations of state in astrophysics
  • Knowledge of the ADS-Harvard search platform
  • Basic grasp of astrophysical equations and their applications
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the specific equations of state for neutron stars in academic literature
  • Explore the implications of the degenerate neutron gas model
  • Learn how to utilize the ADS-Harvard search effectively for astrophysics
  • Investigate the latest findings on neutron star EoS from arXiv and other repositories
USEFUL FOR

Astrophysicists, researchers in nuclear physics, and students studying neutron stars will benefit from this discussion, particularly those interested in the equations of state and their implications in astrophysics.

Hello everyone.
I'm looking for an good equation of state for a neutron star, I'm starting with a degenerate neutron gas, but i have nothing to compare my results, I've search on the internet for it but haven't success. May you guys could have any graph of it to help me ?

Thanks a lot.

I mean, I'm using the equations:

P=Mn c² Φ(x) / 8π²λ³ and ε= Mn c² Ψ(x) / 8π²λ³

Fully, for a neutron gas

I don't know if you already found something, but maybe this can help: https://arxiv.org/pdf/1305.3510.pdf (or references there in)

Moreover, whenever you need to find some good reference in Astrophysics try using this search website: Ads-Harvard
I looked for "equation of state neutron star", and these are the results: link
