SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the adequacy of SAT scores for admission to Caltech for students completing their O' Levels in Singapore. The participant is taking the SAT Reasoning Test, Mathematics Level 2, and Physics. It is established that while SAT scores are necessary, they are not sufficient alone for admission; Caltech also requires SAT Subject Tests (SAT II) and other qualifications. The consensus emphasizes that meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission, as the competition is intense.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of the SAT Reasoning Test and its components
  • Familiarity with SAT Subject Tests (SAT II)
  • Knowledge of Caltech's admission requirements
  • Awareness of the competitive nature of university admissions in the USA
NEXT STEPS
  • Research Caltech's specific admission requirements for international students
  • Explore the format and content of SAT Subject Tests (SAT II)
  • Investigate strategies for enhancing university applications beyond test scores
  • Learn about the differences between the education systems in Singapore and the USA
USEFUL FOR

Students preparing for university applications, particularly those from Singapore aiming for competitive institutions like Caltech, as well as educators advising on international admissions processes.

Hey guys I'm new to this forum. I'm currently sitting for my 'o' levels in Singapore, but I am taking the SATs too. I'm taking the SAT reasoning test, Mathematics level 2 and physics paper.
I would like to know if the SATs by itself is enough for me to enter a university such as Caltech? I'm not familiar with the education system in the USA therefore I would require as much information as possible. Thanks!

You need to read their admissions site; most top schools also require SAT II tests. And those are only the minimum requirements to apply; getting in requires a lot more.
